5 Restaurants in the Bay Area

Everyone wants to hear about some great restaurants to check out while traveling. It’s hard to find ones in large areas, such as the Bay Area. I know I struggled with finding some so I decided to write a short post about the restaurants in the Bay Area that I went to.

Educated Palate

The first one I’d recommend is the Educated Palate. It has wall to ceiling windows which offers bright and elegant dining for up to 50 people. It is the restaurant that showcases the skills that students have learned during their time in the program for both becoming a chef and dining room service. I had steak kabobs with a side of couscous. The steak had an amazing flavor and it paired very well with the couscous. I would love to go back there next time I’m in San Francisco.

Farallon Restaurant

The next restaurant I went to while in San Francisco was the Farallon. It is Union Square and is known for their expertise as a classic coastal seafood. Since I was having dinner there with a group of people, including a business partner, we did not dine in the regular dining area. We were actually brought to a separate room, almost ballroom style, for dinner. They had awesome murals on both the walls and ceilings! Our menus were pre-fixed so we only had a couple of options to choose from. I chose their steak which was prepared extremely well and to my liking. They also had mashed potatoes as a side, which they were amazing! I could eat only those and be happy!

Sushi Raw

If you love sushi like me, you must check out Sushi Raw. My best friend and I went here for dinner after exploring San Francisco earlier in the day. It is a larger restaurant than we were expecting so there’s plenty of seating near the sushi bar or the dining room. All of the food we had was delicious! Whether it was miso soup, seaweed salad, sashimi, or their specialty roll, we loved all of it! I would definitely go back here the next time I’m in San Francisco.

After my trip on the cable car down to Fisherman’s Wharf, I was hungry for some lunch. After some searching online, I found Capurro’s. It was close to me and had good reviews so I decided to check it. They had many options for a meal but I decided to treat myself with their special 3-course meal for lunch. It included clam chowder, seafood dish, and then a chocolate cake for dessert. It was all so good! After my meal, I found out that they are one of the only restaurants with a license to purchase their seafood directly from the docks. No wonder it was so good, cause it was so fresh! I highly recommend it if you go to Fisherman’s Wharf.

Gelato Classico Italian Ice Cream

Unlike all of the restaurants above, Gelato Classico is not located in San Francisco. I went to Fremont with my best friend to get this gelato. It is her favorite gelato place in the Bay Area so of course, I had to check it out. They have so many flavors so it was difficult to choose from. After some taste testing, I ended up with salted caramel and pumpkin. They were so amazing together! Both the taste and flavors were extremely good. It reminded me of my trip to Italy and made me miss Italy even more! If you’re able to get outside of San Francisco, I recommend going to Fremont and getting some gelato here. You won’t regret it!
